A Rich Heritage

Smith Law Partnership started life when H. J. Smith set up in practice on his own in Braintree High Street in 1938. From the outset the firm strove to offer a high standard of personal service, although at that time its clients were largely locally based. During the 1960s the firm moved to its present offices and became known as H. J. Smith & Co.

Since the end of the second world war it has grown steadily in size, in the range of services it offers and the clientele it serves. As a consequence of its longstanding commitment to client care it has a strong base of both individual and commercial clients, many of whom live within central Essex, but also numbering many others from across the eastern counties and beyond.

Smith Law Partnership has been careful to retain the "family business" ethos, while bringing in more wide-ranging expertise to ensure versatility within the range of professional services offered.

Today, Smith Law Partnership is a modern, creative and forward-looking law practice, offering specialist advice and case handling. However, the firm never loses sight of the strong foundations of personal service on which it was built and is proud of the large number of personal recommendations for new work which it receives each year from satisfied clients.

Our new identity is a change in presentation to reflect the wider services now on offer, but the high standards of dedicated personal service, for which we are renowned, remain unaltered and as strong as ever.
